Try to be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud

Did you know the cause of cancer is 5% genetic and 95% lifestyle? We have more control over our health than we realise.
During this time, I was hospitalised with severe stomach pains. I was overwhelmed with stress, I had erratic hormones and lacked the energy to run around after my young children. A decent meal and a good nights sleep seemed a luxury I rarely treated myself to.
Laura suggested we encourage mums to look after themselves and stop putting their own needs last and if she’d taken the time to listen to her body whether she would have caught the cancer early enough. 2 months after Laura died, I began my studies at the renowned College of Natural Medicine in naturopathic nutrition, to begin my journey to help women who have lost their way when it comes to a healthy lifestyle, are overwhelmed by stress or grief & feel they don’t recognise the woman staring back at them from the mirror.
I used to struggle to understand why when you’re on a plane you should put on your own oxygen mask before helping others, this went against my natural instinct to automatically help my children first. If you don’t look after yourself first, you won’t be in the best place mentally or physically to help those closest to you.
